PRIMIR is the premier market research association of the graphic communications industry, formed in 2005 when GAMIS and the NPES Market Research Committee merged. Members are from diverse segments of the industry (manufacturers and distributors of equipment and supplies, printers, trade shops, publishers, and paper companies), and are foremost in their area of specialty. Members receive over $400,000 in proprietary market research for their annual dues. Join ICC

The purpose of the International Color Consortium (ICC) is to promote the use and adoption of open, vendor-neutral, cross-platform color management systems. The ICC encourages vendors to support the ICC profile format and the workflows required to use ICC profiles - enabling the translation of color definition information into a standard color interchange space. NPES members receive a significant discount on dues.

Industry Standards

Industry Standards provide uniform, defined procedures and tools which help users produce - faster, more efficiently and more cost-effectively - quality products that are safe for their customers.

NPES provides leadership in developing national and international standards for the printing industry and serves as secretariat to the following American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited standards committees:


Develops ANSI safety standards for printing presses, bindery machines and other printing equipment.

Committee for Graphic Arts Technologies Standards works to improve the efficiency of national standards development, facilitates information exchange, coordinates multi-discipline standards activities and provides liaison for international standards development.



Advisory Group to the International Organization for Standardization’s Technical Committee 130, Graphic Technology. The US TAG consists of experts from the industry who provide guidance to ANSI on the development of the U.S. position on international standards relating to the graphic arts.
