NPES is the ONLY U.S. trade association specifically representing companies that manufacture or distribute equipment, systems, software, and supplies – from desktop design and image generation and processing software to multiple output and targeted dissemination systems – for the printing, publishing, and package printing/converting industries.
Companies can join NPES as either an Associate Member or a Full Member. Membership eligibility requirements and benefits are specific for each category.
Regardless of the membership category (full vs. associate), no company may join NPES if more than 50% of their business is in used equipment.
Full membership is open to two different kinds of companies:
- Manufacturers of machinery, equipment, systems, software, or supplies for printing, publishing and converting technologies.
- Dealers of machinery, equipment, systems, software, or supplies for printing, publishing and converting technologies that serve the entire U.S.
To be eligible for full membership in NPES, manufacturers and dealers must have an office in the United States: those that do not may qualify for Associate Membership.
No corporate group of parent, subsidiaries, and/or divisions may have more than three full memberships in NPES.
Associate membership is open to three different kinds of companies:
- U.S., Canadian, or Mexican dealers that serve a local or regional market in the U.S.
- Canadian and Mexican manufacturers and dealers that serve the entire U.S. but do not have an office in the U.S.
- Trade publications.
Associate Members may not serve on the NPES Board of Directors. Associate member dealers and trade publications are not eligible to participate in the NPES Market Data Program. Trade publications are not eligible to receive PRIMIR studies.
