COMPENSATION SURVEYS
Annually, NPES compiles compensation reports for personnel engaged in the manufacture or distribution of equipment and supplies sold to the printing, publishing and converting industries. These reports provide participants with prevailing industry compensation and practices data for 45 positions in these five major job categories. Detailed compensation data are provided to participating NPES members only for use as a reliable industry benchmark. Surveys include:

- Marketing/Sales Compensation and Practices Survey
- Engineering/Manufacturing Compensation and Practices Survey
NPES Service Personnel Compensation and Practices Survey
The NPES Service Personnel Compensation and Practices Survey is conducted annually for members of the association and provides companies with prevailing industry compensation/practices data for service personnel in the printing and publishing industry.
Data are published for eight service personnel positions and reported by company sales volume and principle products. This report provides compensation trends for each of the eight positions, allowing recipients to easily view compensation growth rates. Additionally, this report includes detailed information on company expense and overtime practices.
NPES Engineering/Manufacturing and Marketing/Sales Compensation Surveys
The annual NPES Engineering/Manufacturing and Marketing/Sales Compensation Surveys provide participating member companies with prevailing industry compensation and practices data for engineering/manufacturing and marketing/sales personnel in the printing, publishing and converting industries.
Data are published for ten engineering, thirteen manufacturing and 14 marketing and sales positions and reported by company sales volume and principle products. Both surveys provide the latest trends in Engineering/Manufacturing and Marketing/Sales personnel salaries, identifies methods of payment, types of non-cash compensation, years of experience, and level of education for each position and addresses common practices among these departments.
While understanding the need for detailed data, NPES remains strongly committed to protecting responses of individual participants. Replies will remain strictly confidential and all data will be compiled in aggregate form only. To further safeguard information, NPES adheres to reporting guidelines established by the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Justice.
