| For
more than 48 years, the NPES Market Data Program has helped
companies plan for the future by providing data on nearly
200 print product markets. From this data our members
have successfully gauged their performance within this
diverse industry, evaluated the emergence of new market
trends, and projected sales with confidence.
Rated
as extremely important and effective in a recent membership survey, this highly
confidential program provides participants with detailed data on the following primary
print markets.
NPES commissions this data collection effort
through an independent third party to ensure the confidentiality
of participating members. To further safeguard individual
company data the Market Data Subcommittee and NPES Legal
Counsel have incorporated Disclosure Guidelines.
Nearly 60 companies participate in this unique program and the list keeps growing.
Participation is open to any active NPES member at no
additional cost.
To better serve our members,
NPES has developed an Electronic Reporting System which will provide program participants "real time"
access to analysis tools. Additionally, the flexibility
of the program allows participants to recommend additional
reporting categories as new markets emerge, assuring
NPES remains the "authoritative source" for
printing and publishing market data.
In addition to data collection, the Market Data
Program provides these services and publications to members:
- Monthly
reports forecasting graphic arts supplies shipments.
- Quarterly Marketing Information, a
consolidated quick-reference guide compiled from the Market Data Program and other
industry sources to provide a complete statistical picture of the industry
- MarketScan Forecasts of the outlook
for the national economy and the printing and publishing technologies industry by NPES
Consulting Economist Michael K. Evans, and NPES Consulting Analyst Neil Richards.
- Annual surveys in the areas of compensation, product liability
and tradeshows, providing benchmarks for members to
compare their policies with the rest of the industry.
Also, the market data program
sponsors PRINT OUTLOOKŪ,
the annual industry economic and marketing conference
bringing together experts from government and industry
to analyze performance and technology trends.
