Conference background

Protecting the environment and reducing industrial pollution is China’s top priority of the 21st century. The Chinese government has designated the printing industry as a vital sector of those metropolitan and urban industries that have a direct impact on the health of the nation’s environment and the well-being of its economy. Created and organized by the NPES Greater China Office and its China training and demo center, the conference is the first and only event that focuses on how we all can continue the global printing industry’s development and realize a true green printing goal.

“We cannot ignore the environmental and economic impacts from the printing and packaging industries. The environmental protection initiative will lead to a profound change in our printing industry. Let us work together, taking the good timing of Shanghai World Affairs, and bring green printing to a new level.”

--- Lee Xinli, Deputy Director of Shanghai Printing and Publications Administration

“The focus of this conference is on flexo printing, which I see as an excellent beginning. After more and more topics are explored and discussed, eco-consciousness will be deeply ingrained in the Shanghai printing industry – not only as a theory, but also as a reality.”

--- Yang Yiping, Deputy Director of Shanghai Printing and Publications Administration

“21st century package printing will have to be a green industry. From the beginning of the century, package printing must co-exist hand-in-hand with the environment. It is an opportunity that green packaging and printing will become our industry’s main focus and a trademark of our development worldwide.”

--- Shen Weirong, General Manager, Jielong Industry Corporation
