The new American Technology Print Center in Moscow was launched with a $164,600 technical assistance grant from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (pdf) to the Russian Interregional Printers Association. The Association chose NPES as the sole contractor to develop and operate the center. The center trains Russian industry personnel while offering NPES members the opportunity to demonstrate products, distribute literature, contact potential distributors, provide technical support and service, warehouse spare parts and strengthen their presence in the Russian market. For information about the Center, contact NPES Director of International Trade Michael Hurley at 703/264-7200 or e-mail mhurley@npes.org.

Print Media Business, a new book by Frank Romano, has been translated to Russian, published and printed by the NPES-operated American Technology Print Center in Moscow. Printed in 3,000 copies under copyright agreement, the book is part of a new market development activity by the NPES Moscow Center to promote American printing, publishing and converting technologies and the products of NPES member companies through sales and sales promotions to major printers, dealers and printing colleges in the fast-growing Russian and Eurasian markets. The book, sponsored by Xanté Corporation, features a page of information on the company and its digital printing products. A series of educational seminars, being scheduled and organized in Russia and Ukraine by NPES, will feature technology presentations by interested NPES member companies and Romano’s book, as well as other texts of educational and training publications of GATF and NAPL translated, published and printed in Russian under copyright agreement by NPES Russia through its American Technology Print Center. Member companies interested in sponsoring an educational or training book and/or participating in educational seminars, should contact Michael Hurley, NPES Director of International Trade, (703) 264-7200, mhurley@npes.org; and/or Leonid Shahhmundes, NPES Market Representative for Russia and Eurasia, (617) 389-6700, leonid@cambridgeprepress.com.
