Speaker Bios:
Alexei Ivanenko, President and CEO, Comline Group,CIS, Moscow
Mr. Ivanenko has over 16 years of experience in running businesses in Russia and ex-USSR countries. He has a University degree in Printing, and an Executive MBA in strategy from Kingston Business School in London. Mr. Ivanenko has also worked as a lecturer at Moscow Printing University. Mr. Ivanenko is today the President and CEO of Comline Group. Comline is a group of companies in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Belarus that started in 1992. The main scope of the business is the printing business development and supply to the Graphic Arts industry. Besides direct sales, distribution and consulting companies, Comline Group include commercial printing and digital printing businesses.
Fabio Mortara, Regional President, ABIGRAF-São Paulo
Mr. Mortara is the regional president, São Paulo, of the Brazilian Association of the Graphic Industry and the director and founder of Paper Express, a digital printing firm.
Mr. Mortara has an international education with Bachelor and Master Degrees in Business Administration from Brazil and a Master of Science degree from Cornell University.
He has also published several articles in newspapers and magazines in Brazil about a wide variety of subjects such as prepress, digital printing, printing, printing technology in media. Mr. Mortara has also given highly-acclaimed seminars at premier industry events throughout Brazil, Latin America and the United States.
Hamilton Terni Costa, NPES Market Representative for Brazil and Latin America and President, AN Consulting
Hamilton Terni Costa has enjoyed a career covering 35 years in the printing and graphic communications industry. For 18 years he managed a family business doing commercial printing, business forms and packaging. Most recently he was CEO of Quebecor World Mexico, Manufacturing Director for Latin America and General Manager of Quebecor World Sao Paulo. Mr. Terni Costa has served as President of the Brazilian Association of Printing Technology (ABTG) and belonged to the boards of the Brazilian Printing Industry Association (ABIGRAF) and CONLATINGRAF, the Latin American Printing Industry Confederation. Today he manages his consulting firm for the printing industry.
Jinfeng Xu, Vice Chairman and General Secretary, PEIAC, Beijing
Mr. Xu has a degree from the Chemical Engineering Department of East China University of Science and Technology. He has enjoyed a career within the engineering area, and he has also been the Vice Mayor of Benxi City of the Liaoning Province. In 2004 he became the Chairman and General Secretary of The Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China (PEIAC). PEIAC is a nationwide trade association, founded in Beijing in 1985, as well as a social economic organization, representing the industries of printing, converting, equipment manufacturing and material producing, comprising of various enterprises engaging in printing, printing equipment manufacturing, printing material producing, selling, distribution, research, education, consultation and technical services.
Ya-Ping Zhou, NPES Market Representative or Greater China and President, Zynet International
Mr. Zhou is Founder and President of Zynet International Inc., a California-based global communications marketing company specializing in market development for the communications industry. He spearheaded the launch of the first true business-to-business dual language website servicing China and international graphic arts industries (www.npes.com.cn). Mr. Zhou has written comprehensive market research papers on the Chinese, U.S. and European Union communication industries. He has over 30 years of professional, technical and business management experience in the graphic arts field.
Ralph Nappi, President, NPES and Graphic Arts Show Company
Mr. Nappi, was named President of NPES and GASC in January, 2006. He brings over 27 years’ of experience in association management, distribution and manufacturing to these roles. NPES is an association serving over 500 companies that develop and manufacture equipment, software and supplies used in virtually every printing, publishing, and packaging process. GASC is a trade show management organization responsible for producing the largest printing industry trade shows in North America – including GRAPH EXPO®
and PRINT®.
Nappi currently serves on the boards of the Small Business Legislative Council and the National Association of Manufacturers’ Associations Council and is a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce “Association Committee of 100,” which is comprised of the country’s leading trade association CEO’s.
Kip Smythe, Vice President of Global Programs, NPES
At NPES Mr. Smythe has overall responsibility for association programs in the area of International Trade, Market Research (through PRIMIR) and Industry Standards. Mr. Smythe also serves as Secretary to the International Color Consortium, a group of companies developing a specification for color management for computer systems, software and peripherals. In 2005 when the NPES market research committee merged with the Graphic Arts Marketing Information Service (GAMIS) to form the Print Industries Market Information and Research Organization (PRIMIR), he became President of that organization. Mr. Smythe also served as Secretary to the USA Technical Advisory Group to the International Organization for Standardization’s Technical Committee 130 on Graphic Technology (ISO TC 130). He is currently Convenor of working group 5 of ISO TC 130 that is developing international standards for safety of printing equipment.
Mike Hurley, Director International Trade, NPES
Mr. Hurley directs the NPES international offices and representatives, driving a dynamic program of market information and trade promotion services to help NPES members sell their products worldwide. Based at the Association’s headquarters in Reston, Virginia, he has organized and led NPES trade activities in 25 countries for over 15 years. Before joining NPES, he lived and worked in sales and project management in Latin America for nine years. He is fluent in Spanish and conversant in Portuguese and French.
