Lobbying Activities

Historically, NPES has focused its lobbying activities on the issues listed below that are particularly relevant to capital goods manufacturers:

• Claims for injuries on overage products Suits inspired by employers who have subrogation liens on claimants' possible damage awards Misuse or alteration of product Punitive damages claims Alcohol and/or drug abuse Joint and several liability
• Products seller liability for injuries

Surveys

Surveys are conducted to gather information on the costs and trends of product liability insurance and litigation expenses to NPES member firms.

NPES members who participate in the surveys benefit from the aggregate data they receive when the survey is completed, which allows them to compare their product liability costs to those of the industry as a whole.
