AFFILIATIONS
To better serve its membership, NPES actively works with a number of industry groups in different capacities. Listed below are these organizations and a brief description of their relationship with NPES:
American National Standards Institute (ANSI)The American National Standards Institute serves as the coordinating institution for the development of voluntary standards in the United States. It provides the structure through which consensus standards are developed and approved and acts as a clearinghouse for information on standards and related activities in the United States and abroad. Through its membership in ANSI and the Institute's Image Technology Standards Board, NPES provides leadership and guidance in the development of standards affecting the printing, publishing and graphic communications industries. NPES serves as secretariat to three accredited ANSI groups: B65, the Committee on Graphic Arts Technologies Standards and the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to the International Organization for Standardization's Technical Committee 130. Business-Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC) The Business-Industry Political Action Committee is an independent, bipartisan organization that is supported by several hundred of the nation’s leading businesses and trade associations. BIPAC enables more effective business participation in the political process, and provides the political strategy and tools to help its members reach their election and public policy goals. Coalition Against Counterfeiting and Piracy (CACP) The Coalition Against Counterfeiting and Piracy is committed to increasing the understanding of the negative impact of counterfeiting and piracy by working with Congress and the administration to drive greater government-wide efforts to address this threat. Cooperative Agreements and AlliancesTo provide members better market information and access, NPES has signed cooperative agreements with the industry associations in Europe, Latin America, China and India. The agreements call for collaboration in the exchange of market information, in education and training, and in coordinating the schedules and promotion of exhibitions. Additional information on these agreements and alliances can be obtained through the NPES International Trade Department. ABIMEG - BrazilThe Association of Brazilian Manufacturers in the Graphic Arts Industry (ABIMEG) represents the interests of local manufacturers in the largest printing industry market in South America. The All-India Federation of Master PrintersThe Federation represents the major printers in the Indian market. ANIDIGRAF - MexicoThe National Association of Manufacturers and Distributors in the Graphic Arts Industry represents suppliers to the Mexican market, the second most important country market for U.S. printing industry exports after Canada. CONLATINGRAF - Latin AmericaThe Confederation of the Latin American Graphic Arts Industry (CONLATINGRAF) has as its members the national printing associations of 14 countries in Latin America, which represent some 28,000 printers in the region. EUMAPRINTThe European Committee of Printing and Paper Converting Machinery Manufacturers is a federation founded in 1957 to bring together the national associations of printing, converting and related machinery manufacturers from the major market-economy European countries and the United States. NPES was admitted to EUMAPRINT membership as the only non-European entity in 1983, and served as secretariat in 1990-1991. In addition to NPES, member associations represent Germany, France, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. They account for about 80 percent of world production for the industries represented. One of EUMAPRINT's main activities is the collection and dissemination of printing machinery statistics furnished by the members. Another goal is the promotion of safety and quality standards for printing and converting machinery. And the members coordinate the scheduling of international trade expositions for the benefit of exhibitors and visitors. FAIGA - ArgentinaNPES and the Argentine Graphic Arts Industry Federation (FAIGA) signed an agreement of cooperation on May 21, 1997 during the NPES Trade Mission and display at Grafika 97. As one of the earliest fruits of this cooperation, a delegation of more than 100 people was organized by the FAIGA to visit PRINT 97/CONVERFLEX-USA in Chicago in September, 1997. PANAMGRAPHThis new organization will pursue cooperative activities including exchange of statistical information, coordination of tradeshow schedules and training. The organizations founding the federation are NPES, Mexico's ANIDIGRAF, Brazil's ABIMEG, ANDIGRAF of Colombia and Canada's PESDA. The Printing and Printing Equipment Industry Association of China (PEIAC) consists of organizations and enterprises engaged in printing and printing equipment production and is the head organization for the huge Chinese market of 60,000 printers and 500 publishers. Graphic Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAERF) The Graphic
Arts Education and Research Foundation (GAERF®) was founded
in 1983 by the National Association for Printing Leadership
(NAPL), NPES The Association for Suppliers of Printing, Publishing,
and Converting Technologies, and the Printing Industries of
America, Inc. (PIA). These three national associations jointly
own the Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC®). GAERF was created
to channel a portion of the revenues earned by GASC-managed
shows into projects that promote a positive industry image
and support recruitment and training of a skilled workforce. GAERF has its offices at the NPES headquarters in Reston, Virginia. To receive guidelines for

Mail Moves America is a recently formed coalition of trade associations and corporations with the mission of educating state and federal government decision-makers on the vital role advertising mail plays in the commerce and economy of the United States. A major component of this mission is monitoring, and when necessary, intervening to block so-called “Do-not-mail” legislation at both the state and federal level. National Association of Manufacturers (NAM)NPES membership in NAM provides publications with information on new laws and regulations, reports on various facets of the manufacturing industry and special conferences and programs which are open to NPES members. National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors (NAW)It's NAW's portal, which will provide wholesaler-distributors with a rich array of information and services. It consolidates several previously developed separate NAW sites. Ten months in development, the site was created by a team from Zefer, the award-winning Internet development firm. National Coalition on Benefits The National Coalition on Benefits is a group of companies and associations whose mission and purpose is to work with Congress to maintain employees’ and retirees’ access to employer-provided uniform health and retirement benefits across states and localities and to ensure that federal health reform initiatives preserve ERISA benefits. Paper Industry Association CouncilThe Paper Industry Association Council (PIAC) is an umbrella organization comprising associations who represent major manufacturers and providers of paper based communications and packaging products. PIAC provides information for issue-based advocacy, grassroots, and coalition building. PIAC was formed in December 2001 and is led by a Steering Committee of association leaders selected from the Council. CONTACT: Mark Nuzzaco, Director of Government Affairs, e-mail mnuzzzaco@npes.org The R&D Credit Coalition is a group of more than 100 trade and professional associations along with small, medium and large companies that collectively represent millions of American workers engaged in U.S.-based research throughout major sectors of the U.S. economy, including aerospace, agriculture, biotechnology, chemicals, electronics, energy, information technology, manufacturing, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, software and telecommunications Small Business Legislative Council (SBLC) The Small Business Legislative Council is an independent, permanent coalition of trade and professional associations that share a common concern for the future of small business. Its members work together to strengthen the influence of business on federal legislation and regulatory policy, as well as disseminating information on the impact of public policy on small business. TrendWatchTrendWatch was formed to meet the growing demand for accurate market trend snapshots of the graphic arts, printing, and creative markets. The Companys market information reports are uniquely designed to provide a snapshot of market trends and changes.
