ELECTRONIC REPORTING SYSTEM

Downsizing and increasing demands for timely and accurate market data have placed our members in an all too familiar position in today's workplace--doing more with less. Members have fewer resources and time to report, access and analyze market data. To address this issue NPES is commissioning the development of a new electronic reporting system.

The goal of the NPES Electronic Reporting System is to facilitate the monthly reporting of product shipments and orders (units/dollars) through a highly confidential, user-friendly, client/server reporting system. This system will minimize the reporting efforts of users while maximizing the output and usefulness of market data. The electronic system will improve data turnaround, data integrity, and allow participants "real-time" access to custom reports and analysis tools.

The system will meet the following objectives:

• Maintain a high level of data security
• Provide the flexibility to easily edit reporting categories to ensure NPES tracks the latest industry trends
• Minimize personnel time collecting, reporting, and analyzing data
• Improve data accuracy through the use of electronic data validation and estimation procedures
• Provide "real-time" access to custom reports and analysis tools
• Serve as a vehicle for improving program awareness, interest, and participation
